Aboriginal People
Jyldamenk
Jyldamenk is an informal gathering of Aboriginal people every Tuesday that gives you a chance to catch up with family and friends as well as learn more about the services that are available to help you.
At our gatherings we have craft activities for adults, such as jewellery making, scrapbooking, screen printing and ceramic painting. We also invite special guests who share information about services and techniques that are important to you, such as healthy eating, legal aid and child and family health. We provide adults with a healthy morning tea and lunch that we all prepare together for the group.
We celebrate special occasions such as NAIDOC, National Aboriginal Children’s Day, Sorry Day, Reconciliation Week, Harmony Day, Christmas Day, Easter, Melbourne Cup, Footy season, Pancake Day, Valentines Day and more.
Jyldamenk incorporates Koori Playtime where children are supervised in activities like playdough, painting and outdoor play. We ask parents and carers to please provide morning tea, lunch and drinks for your children.
Who is it for?
