Social Support Program

Are you elderly, living with a disability or caring for someone that is? Do you live in a rural area and feel like you are alone? Do you live alone and lack access to transport?

Then the Social Support program is the program that can help you, with paid and unpaid companions to assist with independence and improving quality of life for people who may be socially or geographically isolated.

What is the Social Support program?

The Social Support program provides assistance in a range of services, such as friendly home visiting, social outings and day trips, shopping assistance, accompanying clients to appointments, helping carers find support groups and also helping with referrals to other services if needed.

Who can get assistance?

Assistance is available to those who are elderly, living with a disability, living rurally, people living alone or people without family supports to maintain their independence. Clients can be referred by family members or friends or with permission by a service provider.

Is there a cost involved in using the Social Support Program?

No, there are no costs to the client.

Where is the Social Support program available?

The program is available in the Deniliquin and Conargo Shires.
