Supporting and strengthening parenting

Parenting is one of the most important jobs that we may ever do, however at times it can be a real challenge. If you feel like you may be struggling and need some advice, information or support then the Parenting Program may be for you.

What is the Parenting Program?

The Parenting Program aims to support and strengthen families and to contribute to the well-being of children and their families through parenting groups, one-to-one parenting support, Outreach programs, conducting workshop and information sessions and providing information and resources to the community. The Program can be provided both in your home and also in a local centre.

Who can access the Parenting Program?

Families or carers of young children, new parents, young parents, families in rural and remote areas, Aboriginal families, culturally and linguistically diverse families and families with additional needs such as social issues, disabilities, domestic violence or mental health issues. Families or individuals can refer themselves, or with permission another service may refer them.

Are there any costs to access the Parenting Program?

No, there are no costs to the client.

Where is the Parenting Program available?

The Parenting Program is available in the Deniliquin, Conargo, Murray, Berrigan, Jerilderie and Wakool Shires and is based at the Deniliquin Neighbourhood Centre, corner Trickett and Napier Streets, Deniliquin.
