What is the information support service?
Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres are information centres for older people, people with disabilities and those who provide care and services. Information is available on a variety of services which may be able to help with in-home assistance for people who may be frail aged, have a disability, may need transport assistance, assistance with meals, home modifications, respite or social support. Staff at the Centre can provide information on services available in the Riverina Murray area, how to contact the services, the costs involved and also the eligiblity criteria. The Staff can also transfer you to other Centres throughout Australia if you require information about another area.
What is carer respite and support?
Respite and support is available for people who are caring for someone who may be frail aged, has dementia, living with a disability, mental, chronic or terminal illness. Carers can gain access to short-term and emergency respite through contacting the Centre on 1800 052 222. Information is provided on options for respite and the Staff at the Centre can help carers access planned respite options and funding for short-term emergency respite.
