Future bright for Intereach OOSH

Intereach’s Out of School Hours (OOSH) program is looking forward to an exciting year, with the launch of an enhanced educational program, upgrades to the Family Centre and new educators welcomed.
Donna Crane, who is acting as Program Service Manager and Nominated Supervisor, and Emma East, in her newly appointed role of Educational Leader, both bring a wealth of experience and passion to the Deniliquin-based centre.
A Deniliquin resident for more than 30 years, Donna joins the team with extensive experience in the Children’s Services Industry, where she passionately advocates for safe, equitable, and inclusive opportunities for all children.

“I am very excited about my new role and look forward to building reciprocal relationships with children, families and communities."

Her passion for rural and remote families is at the heart of her work, and her career spans leadership roles in mobile children’s services, preschools, and childcare centres across Deniliquin and surrounding areas.
A lifelong learner, Donna is studying Play and Art Therapy at university and has a background in allied health.
Emma’s role is to inspire and motivate educators, to maximise their potential in supporting the delivery of quality outcomes for children and families in our OOSH service.
She will drive the development of a child-led educational program that focuses on children’s interests, encouraging them to connect with the world around them while building confidence and independence.

“Every day will be an opportunity for discovery, growth, and unforgettable experiences,” Donna said.

Service Highlights
Along with new leadership, the OOSH program continues to thrive with engaging activities and inclusive initiatives.
“We have introduced ‘Water Fight Fridays’, which have been a huge hit with children and educators,” Donna said.

“With themes such as Ninja Warrior Course, Dunk an Educator Day, and more, Fridays have become a source of fun and community spirit.”
Baking was also a highlight during the January Vacation Care program (left).
During the January Vacation Care program, children enjoyed a vibrant week packed with activities like a colour run, mural painting, Lego competitions, and games day, providing endless opportunities for fun, creativity and teamwork.
Looking ahead, OOSH is planning to update its indoor and outdoor environments, which will create even more enriching and inclusive spaces for children to learn and play.
“The OOSH program is well-positioned to continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in the community,” Donna said.
Stay tuned for updates as OOSH grows and evolves, helping to build strong connected communities.
