The Intereach Hay Community Hub recognised women in the local community today (March 7), hosting a special morning tea.

Our staff were joined by Hay International Women’s Day Awards nominees.

There were five nominees – Dot Lauer, Jade Auldist, Cheyenne Hurst, Nina Fieldhouse and the ‘Vinnies Volunteers’ ladies.

All five were nominated for helping others and their commitment to the community.

This was our second annual event and it’s a great way for helpful people to be recognised and for others to show their appreciation by nominating a deserving woman in the community. We hope to again run this campaign in 2020.

Krista Schade - Hay Hub acting program manager

The local awards are held as part of International Women’s Day.

All five nominees received a laminated certificate and were treated to morning tea at the Hay Intereach office.
