Embrace Equality is the powerful theme for this year’s International Women’s Day, and it’s a message that community service provider Intereach fully supports.

Intereach embraces the day to highlight and celebrate the achievements of women, encouraging business across regional NSW and Victoria to participate.

On Wednesday, March 8, our staff will be recognising that Intereach is an organisation that is committed to setting an example in employment opportunities for women.

Diversity and gender equality are highly valued at Intereach. This is evident with the organisations engagement of Co-Chief Executive Officers, Yvette Buhagiar and Michelle Tai, in addition, 40 out of 51 management positions are held by women, highlighting Intereach’s commitment to providing equal employment opportunities for women.

“We are proud to support women at Intereach, by providing meaningful career pathways in a range of disciplines that support our communities,” Ms Buhagiar said.

By participating in the International Women’s Day celebrations, staff have an opportunity to reflect on the progress that has been made towards gender equality while also considering the work that still needs to be done to achieve this goal.

“International Women’s Day allows us to reflect on the support we can provide for women within Intereach, and our communities more broadly. It is a day we look forward to celebrating each year,” Ms Tai said.

International Women’s Day is  a time to imagine a gender-equal world  free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination,  where women’s achievements are celebrated and for raising awareness about discrimination and taking action to drive gender parity.

“At Intereach we live by our values, we celebrate diversity, provide great learning and development opportunities and promote a safe and healthy workplace.

“We look forward to International Women’s Day 2023, when we can take a moment to celebrate diversity in our organisation.”
