Intereach Family Day Care Educators and children took part in a Munch & Move play based session facilitated by Murrumbidgee Local Health District Health Promotion Officer, Melanie Broadbent.

The focus was on developing fundamental movement skills through practical activities. Focusing on running, jumping, hopping, galloping and side sliding, the group enjoyed a game of ‘frogs and toads’, ball relays, parachute games and dancing.

The healthy eating component starred  ‘The Magic Lunchbox’ story followed by healthy eating ‘cut and paste’ activities and sharing a healthy morning tea

The practical session allowed Educators to engage with the children while learning new ideas for games and activities for implementation in their care environments.

The MLHD Health Promotion team is continuously working with Early Childhood Education and Care Services to deliver the innovative, fun, games based program while enhancing the 6 key messages. https://www.mlhd.health.nsw.gov.au/healthy-living/healthy-eating/munch-move
