Intereach will celebrate National Carers Week in Wagga Wagga with a ‘Carers Week Wellbeing Day’.

It will be held on Thursday October 20 from 10am to 2pm in the E3 Art Space, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, Civic Centre, Corner of Bayliss & Morrow Streets.

National Carers Week runs from Sunday October 16 to Saturday October 22, and is held to recognise and celebrate the 2.65 million Australians who provide care and support to a family member or friend. It is also an opportunity to raise community awareness among Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles.

Intereach CEO Yvette Buhagiar said carers in Wagga Wagga and district “do an amazing job” and, like other carers across the nation, make an enormous contribution to the community and the economy.

“We value their important role and invite them to our Wellbeing Day, which is a small token of our appreciation, a chance to say ‘thank you’ and also an opportunity to ensure the wellbeing of our carers is being recognised and looked after,” Ms Buhagiar said.

She added there would be no charge for the Wellbeing Day, however RSVP is required as the event has a limit of 50 attendees. To advise Intereach of your attendance, email community@intereach.com.au
