Intensive Family Preservation
Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) is a program funded by Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) that aims to support families to reduce the likelihood of children and young people entering or remaining in the child protection and out-of-home care systems. Put simply, we want to help you keep your children in your care.
Over 6 to 12 months, we work with you using evidence-based models that recognise that you and your family relationships are important and will help you make change. Together we look at what you are doing well and where you want to be. We support through case management, parenting and life skills programs, advocacy, referrals and support.
What we expect from our families is to be open and honest, a desire to roll your sleeves up and work to keep your family together and a commitment to keep going even when things get tough. We know that being a parent is hard. We know that you love your children and want the best for them, and we know that there are barriers that can get in the way. We want to support you in overcoming these barriers so that you can keep your children safe and give them the best future that you can.
