The People Behind Aged Care: More than services
Behind every aged care service is a human story.
Because what matters most isn’t just the services — it’s the people. The ones who show up with kindness, consistency and compassion, day after day.
Those who take the time to listen, understand and genuinely care.
Across our communities, clients and families are sharing how our people are helping them feel safe, supported and truly cared for.
In Albury, Sara is one of many Community Support Workers (CSWs) supporting older people to live independently at home — assisting with cleaning, meal preparation, personal care, shopping and social connection.
Always going above and beyond for her clients, she is regularly praised for her compassion and strong work ethic.
“Sara is unbelievably caring, professional and does her job to a very high standard,” one client shared. Another described her as “amazing, kind and obliging in everything she does”.

Alana is another CSW helping Swan Hill seniors stay connected and independent.
One client recently reached out to share the impact she had on their family during a difficult time.
“When my husband was unwell, Alana offered her comfort and I was very grateful,” she said.
“She is brilliant at what she does and always asks if she can do anything extra before she leaves.”

Behind the scenes, Care Partners play an equally important role — coordinating supports, managing rosters and being a consistent point of contact for clients and families.
People like Kate in Bendigo, who helped a couple “navigate the aged care system with patience and understanding,” and Fi in Echuca, who supported a family through an incredibly challenging time.
A Melbourne-based son shared how Fi guided his father through complex and evolving care needs until his passing, while also providing stability and reassurance for his mother.
“Because of this shared history, the relationship with Fi is more than administrative,” he said.
“Mum feels safe with Fi and trusts her judgement. At this stage of life, continuity and familiarity are central to her sense of security and dignity.”

These are more than compliments. They reflect a team deeply committed to helping older people remain independent, connected and confident in their own homes.
