Parents and carers of children with disability or developmental delay in the Shepparton region are invited to join a new support group.

After receiving several expressions of interest, Intereach – the NDIS Partner in the Community – has established the family-led Care and Share Support Group to bring together like-minded people to foster connection, encouragement and support.

The first catch-up will be held on Tuesday 14 January 2025 at 10am, at the Fryers Street Food Store, 53 Fryers St, Shepparton.

Intereach Early Childhood Coordinator Codie Edmunds said all parents and carers of children with disability or developmental concerns were welcome to attend.

“We want to help families in our community feel supported and less isolated by creating a safe space where they can connect, share their journey and find understanding among other families,” she said.

“They will be able to organise games, activities and outings that promote mindfulness and joy, while gaining insights from different guest speakers.

“We are looking forward to meeting parents and carers at our first get-together and hope, with the support of Intereach, they will feel empowered to continue facilitating the group.”
