This week we spoke to our Care Partners to provide answers to the top 10 questions asked by people exploring their aged care options.

How do I access in-home aged care?

First, you’ll need an assessment through My Aged Care.

Once that’s done, reach out to Intereach on 1300 488 226
or contact agedcareservices@intereach.com.au to connect with one of our friendly team.We will guide you through the next steps.

Together we’ll develop a support plan that helps you to remain independent in your own home and connected in your community.

How soon can I access in-home aged care services?

After your My Aged Care assessment, you will receive an assignment letter that contains your referral code/s, priority level, quarterly budget, and funding start date.

Your Intereach Care Partner will work with you to plan and schedule your supports.

Once your care plan is agreed upon, services can begin immediately.

What services can I access with Intereach in-home aged care?

Intereach provides a range of services that support you to live safely and independently in your own home. These include:

  • Personal care – assistance with daily tasks such as dressing and bathing
  • Domestic assistance – help with cleaning, cooking, and other household tasks
  • Transport – supporting with getting to appointments or running errands
  • Allied health services – access to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other therapeutic supports
  • Social support – opportunities to stay connected with your community
  • Assistive technology and home modifications – equipment and adjustments such as grab rails or ramps

Our work helps you to remain independent while also easing the load on family and friends.

In doing so, those carer dynamics are often reset, easing the mental and physical load on family and friends and enabling you to enjoy time together once more.
