🌿“Families are the fabric and foundation of our community. We need to provide for them, especially our children as they are the next generation.”

🖤 This National Families Week, we’re celebrating the incredible work of Aunty Jill — a proud Wemba Wemba and Yorta Yorta woman who walks beside families with compassion, cultural knowledge and deep community connection.

💪 Through our Aboriginal Health Program, Aunty Jill supports First Nations families to thrive — not just by linking them to services, but by nurturing identity, strengthening cultural bonds, and empowering the next generation.

🤲 From playgroups and women’s gatherings to men’s groups and health education sessions, Aunty Jill’s work reminds us that #SupportingEachother begins with trust, a yarn, and understanding.

💛 “You can’t see it with your eyes, but you can feel it in your heart.”

📖 For National Families Week, we’re sharing a special moment with our ROAR youth worker Geoff reading The Invisible String — a beautiful story about the unbreakable bonds of love that connect us, even when we’re apart.

Geoff often supports young people and their families seeking ways to understand and cope with separation anxiety, grief or loss.

🪡“This gorgeous story helps me teach others that despite time and distance, we are never truly alone, we are all connected by our invisible strings,” he said.

🤲 This year’s #NationalFamiliesWeek theme — Lending a hand to thrive: supporting each other — is exactly what our #ROAR program does, by working with young people and families to improve their mental health.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We just celebrated National Family Day Care Australia Week — recognising the amazing role our Intereach Family Day Care educators play in shaping happy, healthy futures for children.

🌳Across our footprint last week, children, families, educators, and coordinators came together for picnics, play, and connection.

🫧 From bubble-blowing fun in Tyntynder, painting and puzzles in Deniliquin, and storytime under the trees in Griffith to a warm welcome in Wagga Wagga and morning tea in Moama, every event was a joyful reminder of the nurturing environments our educators create each day.

🐛 We even went virtual with a special storytime featuring The Very Hungry Caterpillar and a meaningful Acknowledgement of Country by the children.

🌈 Now we roll into National Families Week — celebrating the strength and love of families everywhere. Stay tuned for stories about the great work our teams are doing to support families.

📣 We currently have Family Day Care vacancies in Forest Hill and Shepparton! Learn more at www.intereach.com.au/service/family-day-care/

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Happy National Families Week!

💛 This year’s theme — Lending a hand to thrive: supporting each other — reflects what Intereach has stood for over the past 50 years.

🌱 From emotional support and practical help to creating safe spaces for connection, families are at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s guiding children, helping newly arrived families settle in, or providing youth mental health support, we’re here to walk alongside you.

💪 Because when families thrive, we create #StrongConnectedCommunities
