Intereach held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 24 October, where key members of the Board were re-elected, and the organisation officially launched its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. The meeting reflected on the achievements of the past financial year while outlining the vision of Intereach into the future, that being one of strong and connected communities across its rural and regional footprint.

Three Directors sought re-election and were returned to the Board, confirming their commitment to lead the organisation.

Chairperson Rob Brown thanked Board members for their dedication and support to the organisation.

“I am proud and privileged to be able to continue working with such a committed and passionate Board,” Mr Brown said.

Re-elected Board members include: Rob Brown, Andrew Johnstone and Noel Graham.

The AGM also marked the official launch of Intereach’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, which articulates a clear roadmap for the future of the organisation.

This plan is built on themes of transformative social impact, targeted sustainable solutions, and being a destination employer.

Co-CEO Michelle Tai said this would ensure Intereach continued to meet the evolving needs of the communities it served while strengthening the organisation’s resilience and sustainability.

“The 2025-2030 Strategic Plan is about how Intereach will continue to be agile and responsive to the ever-evolving landscape of community needs,” Ms Tai said of the idea behind this new approach.

“We’re motivated to work alongside communities in co-designing services that achieve impact, yet are sustainable over the long term.”

Co-CEO Yvette Buhagiar said the strategy was underpinned by people and partnership strength.

We will only continue to grow as an organisation when investing in our teams and fostering a culture that embraces inclusivity, innovation, and service excellence,”

“It is ultimately these values that will enable us to deliver on our commitment to create strong, connected communities.”

The key elements of the Strategic Plan 2025-2030 are:

  • Transformative Social Impact: To design services with and for communities through person-centred and rights-based approaches, while enhancing service delivery through technological innovation.
  • Targeted Sustainable Solutions: Creating scalable programs that address systemic societal needs, and developing high-impact place-based solutions focusing on local community contexts.
  • Destination Employer: Investing in our workforce to create a safe, inclusive, and innovative workplace, ensuring Intereach remains an employer of choice and continues to attract and retain talented individuals.

Mr Brown emphasised the importance of this new strategic direction.

“Our Strategic Plan reflects our deep commitment to the communities we serve,” he said.

“It is designed to not only meet the challenges ahead but also to ensure we continue to grow, evolve, and have a lasting positive impact across rural, remote, and regional areas.”
