Barbecue ‘thanks’ to Shepparton carers
Intereach will say a heartfelt ‘thankyou’ to carers in Greater Shepparton when it hosts a ‘drop in barbecue’ during National Carers Week.
The barbecue will be held from 11.30am to 1.30pm on Thursday 20 October at Victoria Park Lake, and is free to all carers.
National Carers Week runs from Sunday October 16 to Saturday October 22, and is held to recognise and celebrate the 2.65 million Australians who provide care and support to a family member or friend. It is also an opportunity to raise community awareness among Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles.
Intereach CEO Yvette Buhagiar said carers across Greater Shepparton “do an amazing job” and, like other carers across the nation, make an enormous contribution to the community and the economy.
“We value their important role and invite them to our barbecue, which is a small token of our appreciation and our chance to say ‘thank you’,” Ms Buhagiar said.
She added there would be no charge for the food being provided, although Intereach would appreciate an RSVP for catering purposes. To advise of your attendance, phone the Intereach toll free number, 1300 488 226.
